We all know that food safety is a major concern in Bangladesh and it has been identified as a national priority action area by the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The Government has already demonstrated its strong commitment to food safety by enacting 'Food Safety Act in 2013, which 'Rules' are being prepared.
Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) and Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) in partnership with Foreign Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) are jointly organizing "Bangladesh Food Safety Conference 2017" on 23rd-24th August 17 in Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka. This conference aims to facilitate discussions among the stakeholders on how to develop an efficient and effective food safety control system in Bangladesh that will lead to improved public health and enhanced consumer protection.
This two days conference will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Ministry of Industries, Mr. Amir Hossain Amu MP as the Chief Guest. Hon’ble Minister for Food, Advocate Md. Qamrul Islam MP as the Special Guest. Hon’ble Minister for Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Tofail Ahmed MP will do the honor of Closing Ceremony as a Chief Guest. Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare will also be present. International experts from FAO, WHO, FSSAI, NADFC as well as industry experts from Nestle S.A., Switzerland and Coca Cola, USA and National experts on relevant field will present their key note papers followed by Panel discussion by stakeholders consisting of Academia, Regulators and Industry.
